ONLINE CLASSES
We still have a Livestreaming Intermediate Pilates class on Tuesdays at 4pm, and offer a weekly Strength Circuit recording.
IN PERSON FITNESS CLASSES
The current 6 week series of Fitness classes runs to Sept 13, and the next session will be Sept 16 to Oct 25. You can join at any time, and register for any combination of classes. Discounts are offered to those taking 3 classes or more per week (and this includes Pilates and Yoga).
WEIGHT ROOM CIRCUIT – NEW! – This 60min workout is for a maximum of six participants and is available to all fitness levels. This is a great opportunity to gain strength using equipment in the weight room. We’re currently offering two time slots on Monday at 2:00pm, and Monday at 5:30pm. In the upcoming schedule (Sept 16 to Oct 25) this will be changed to Mondays at 5:30pm and Fridays at 10:30am
SPIN – These 45min interval rides provide an efficient workout that builds cardio fitness, leg strength and stamina. These small group sessions are Wednesdays at 10:30am.
STRENGTH CIRCUIT – These 50min full body resistance workouts include a variety of workout formats to build whole body strength and stability. Open to all fitness levels, these sessions are currently running Wednesdays, and Fridays at 12:00pm and the Monday 12pm class will resume Sept 16.
CARDIO STRENGTH CIRCUIT – Enjoy creative formats that target cardio, strength, balance and core stability. Great for ski conditioning! These 60min combination workouts are Wednesdays and Fridays at 9:00am, and we’re starting a new 50min workout on Thursdays at 5:30pm starting Sept 19.
IN PERSON PILATES CLASSES
PILATES ESSENTIALS – This beginner class focuses on the principles of STOTT Pilates mat training. We follow a progressive learning approach in this program, gradually building the connection with our core, and developing the foundation for improving strength and stability. The next series will be Tuesdays, from 6:40 – 7:40pm, from Sept 17 to Oct 22. (Please note, this training can also be provided privately.)
PILATES INTERMEDIATE – These classes are for those who’ve completed the Essentials program and are ready for more challenge, and the integration of small equipment. We have a hybrid in-person and livestreaming class on Tuesday at 4:00pm, and in-person classes on Tuesday at 5:30pm, Thursday at 9:15am and Thursday at 10:30am. The current session is running to Sept 12, and the next session will be Sept 17 to Oct 24.
PILATES REFORMER TRAINING – Heather also offers private or semi-private Reformer training (2 people max). Based on Pilates principles, the Reformer has a moving platform, tension springs and various accessories to both support, and challenge the body. A great approach to building whole body strength and stability. Please contact Heather directly to discuss this option.
IN PERSON YOGA CLASSES
The Yoga classes are running in different cycles of 5 or 6 week sessions. You can register for any number of classes per week, and beginners are welcome. If you’d like to drop into a class, please contact Heather ahead of time to check availability.
YOGA with Brooke Mauws – These classes are designed to help you connect with your body, release tension, improve mobility and achieve a deep sense of peace. Brooke has a gentle, therapeutic approach and all levels of experience are welcome to participate! These classes are currently running on Tuesdays, from 9:00 – 10:15am, (Aug 6 to Sept 10), and in the next series of classes, Brooke will continue with the Tuesday 9am offering (Sept 17 to Oct 22), along with a new class on Friday at 10:30am (Sept 20 to Oct 25).
SLOW FLOW YOGA with Alana Frogley – These beginner friendly classes are accessible to all ages and abilities. Slow Flow means just that. Fewer poses with a focus on the breath, bringing us into our bodies and out of the monkey mind. Each class starts with the breath and ends with deep relaxation. The current series is running on Wednesdays, from 6:45 – 8:00pm, Aug 7 to Sept 4, and in the next session, this class will be moving to Thursdays at 6:45pm (Sept 19 to Oct 22).
KIDS YOGA with Alana – These classes feature developmentally appropriate Yoga games, poses, breathing tools, and relaxation activities to help your kiddo access the benefits of Yoga from a young age. Non-competitive movement opportunities like Yoga can help young children develop body awareness, understand where their feelings come from, and even improve sleep. These classes are created with fun and connection in mind. Appropriate for children ages 4 – 6 (going into kindergarten or Grade 1 in September). Please let us know if you’d like to get your child on the interest list for the next offering!
YOGA WORKSHOP FOR TEENS with Alana – Yoga and breathwork combined with discussions about real issues can give youth the opportunity to focus on themselves and what feels good for them. These workshops will give participants the opportunity to either build on previous Yoga experience or try a new movement practice in a non-competitive and supportive atmosphere. The next session will on Saturday, Sept 21, from 10am to 12pm.
YIN YANG YOGA with Stephanie Ducharme-Rivest – Experience the yin and yang energies with this 75min yoga practice. In Yin Yang yoga you feel the joy of moving the body while cultivating presence and deeper awareness of the yin (feminine) and yang (masculine) energies in and around you. The practice includes mindful sun salutations to warm-up the body, followed by a series of standing, seated and floor postures. The first Fall series will be Monday, from 9:15 – 10:30am, Sept 9 to Oct 7, followed by another series Oct 21 to Dec 2.
HATHA YOGA with Stephanie Ducharme-Rivest – Experience relaxation and the joy of moving your body with this 75min Hatha yoga practice. In Hatha yoga the postures are performed gently and slowly and are typically held longer to get the most benefit. In this contemplative practice you observe the thoughts, emotions, sensations and actions that are in and around you while remaining non-reactive. Classes incorporate a series of warm-up exercises followed by standing, seated and floor postures. The first Fall series will be Monday, from 5:15 – 6:30pm, Sept 9 to Oct 7, followed by another series Oct 21 to Dec 2.
NEW! YOGA THERAPY with Bobbi Lalach – This program is for anyone who has pain, or an injury, holding them back from the seasonal activities they enjoy. Bobbi is a Kinesiologist and Yoga Therapist who works with individuals and small groups exploring the transformative power of breathwork, mindfulness, and gentle movement, to help clients tap into their inner strength and ignite the process of self-healing. We hope to see Bobbi back on the schedule in the Fall.
YOGA with Kirsten Guest – Kirsten is currently on a break and will not be teaching the first series of the Fall season. We’ll keep you posted as to her plans for later Fall.
IN PERSON DANCE CLASSES
ADULT BALLET with Diana Dearden – This traditional ballet class incorporates a warm up, barre, centre, and stretch. It is open to all dancers and includes a brief floor barre to encourage proper alignment, strengthening, and technique. Come explore the joy of movement set to a soundtrack of the greatest ballets. There will be a short four week session in September, on Mondays, from 6:45 – 8:00pm, Sept 9 to 30, and then Diana will be taking a break, and returning to the schedule in January 2025.
CREATIVE DANCE for Kids (Age 7 – 11) with Laurence Rondeau-L’Ecuyer
Delivered in a fun a collaborative atmosphere, this program is designed to help students develop spatial awareness, rhythm, imagination and sensitivity while exploring movements inspired by contemporary and jazz dance. PLEASE NOTE, this class will now be held on Wednesdays, from 5:15 – 6:15pm, Sept 11 to Oct 16, and Nov 6 to Dec 11.
CONTEMPORARY DANCE with Laurence Rondeau-L’Ecuyer
This program is ideally suited for those with previous dance experience. Participants will explore floorwork, core mobility, body flow and spatial awareness, enjoying freedom of movement through structured improvisation and choreographed patterns. PLEASE NOTE, this class will now be held on Wednesdays, from 6:30 – 7:45pm, Sept 11 to Oct 16, and Nov 6 to Dec 11.
